Parade of Champions™
In June Al Jacobs (founder of Fightboi ®) is running from Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast up to the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane (approx 95km) to raise money for injured and disabled kids. Running under the Parade of Champions ™ banner, Al intended to run solo until Michael Brosnan (founder of Endura and Inner Health Plus) suggested they run together and hopefully raise more money for the kids.
Allan and Michael will run from Mermaid to Nerang, then to Dreamworld on up to Pimpama, then to Yatala and up to Beenleigh, onto Loganholme then to Garden City at Mt Gravatt. From there they head into Brisbane's CBD and the final leg to the Royal Children's Hospital at Bowen Hills.
Allan is doing his own training, Bear (from the Bronx) is taking care of his diet and best mate Sean is supervising his weights program and monitoring his supplement intake
As with all charity events the more money raised will bring many smiles. If you wish to help out in any way whatsoever, have suggestions or know of businesses that may be interested in being sponsors for the event please contact us.
Guinness World Record
This November we plan to set a new world record in Boxing. Being held on the Gold Coast you may wish to participate. Stay tuned for details
A Piece of Piss!
Sunday December 9, 2007: Armed with a packet of red frogs, his ipod and some words of encouragement from family and friends, Allan Jacobs (founder of Fightboi) hit the road at 5am today in the annual 50k Kurrawa to Duranbah and return road race.
Inspired by Anne Maree Knight's triumphant run in the 2007 Gold Coast Marathon in July, it was Allan's first attempt to run that breath-taking distance, and was hell-bent on tackling what seemed for some to be "impossible".
After training for four weeks (cutting out coffee and staying on a nutritional well-balanced diet AND taking his daily supplements recommended for him by Fightboi's other Elite Personal Trainer Sean Macdonald, Allan did the run in 5hrs 31min. Not bad for a guy who doctors said because of a disability at birth, would never be able to walk, run OR play sport!
Despite sore feet after the race, Allan said it was a piece of piss... "a healthy lifestyle wins every time!"
